There's nothing worse for a Seattle bike commuter than finding out that your ride has been stolen. Good news is that Seattle Bike Blog and BikeIndex recently partnered up to make it easier for those with stolen bikes to get the word out and up the odds of getting it back. In the meantime, HotPads has taken Bike Index's stolen bike data and used it to compile maps of bike theft hotspots in cities across America. Looking at Seattle, certain area make a lot of sense, like Downtown, Capitol Hill and U-District. But what's going on in Wallingford? Specifically 44th & Stone Way, which appears to be the hottest of bike theft hot spots around town. Want to cut down on the chances your bike gets nicked? Move to West Seattle or Northwest Seattle.
