Whole Foods Coming to Capitol Hill, Fed Building up for Auction

CAPITOL HILL -- Whole Foods announced plans for its ninth Puget Sound store, which will be part of Columbia Pacific Advisors' new 16-story, mixed-use development at 1001 Broadway. The 40K sq. ft. health food store will serve as the retail base for the project, with approximately 300 apartments featured above the store. An early permit with the city calls for 337 parking spaces. [DJC]

BELLTOWN-- The Schuster Group officially finished building the Walton Lofts structure earlier this week and celebrated with a rooftop event. The 12-story building at Western and Vine will include 136 loft-style apartments and is expected to open next summer. The project is targeting Green Globes certification, hoping to get a rating equivalent to LEED gold. [DJC]

DOWNTOWN -- Now that Seattle Public Schools has pulled out of plans to renovate the old Fed building, it's going on the auction block. Bidding will start December 5 for the building on Second Avenue. [PSBJ]
