Seattle is already getting giant spheres full of greenery, might as well keep this downtown forest growing.
Skanska has plans to do just that with a 725,000 square-foot office tower at Second Avenue and University Street called 2&U. The skyscraper, which they hope to have open in 2019, will also include shops and restaurants.
Designs also call for "forest-like base" full of pedestrian passages and public spaces. Pickard Chilton is there lead architect on the project, tasked with melding Northwest character into the design of the structure. The project, Skanska's fourth in the region, is on land leased from the Samis Foundation.
