Check Out Sheraton Seattle's 22nd Annual Gingerbread Village

What can you do with 1,200 pounds of dough, 800 pounds of icing, 200 pounds of white chocolate, 250 pounds of almond paste and hundreds of pounds of candy? Make some pretty epic gingerbread houses, that's what. Seattle Sheraton Hotel is back with their annual Gingerbread Village. This year's theme is "Jingle All The Way." Hence, each of the six gingerbread displays, designed by various architectural firms in Seattle, has a holiday music-inspired theme this year.

Participating architectural firms include MulvannyG2 Architecture, Bailly and Bailly, Master Builders Association of King and Snohomish Counties & Gelotte Hommas Architecture, Callison, Skanska and 4D Architects, Inc.

The holiday tradition draws more than 100,000 visitors annually and is free to the public, although donations to the Northwest Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation are accepted and appreciated. In the past 20 years, the Gingerbread Village has raised more than $669,000 for the JDRF. The Sheraton's hotel staff donate more than 1,200 volunteer hours for this event.
