Third Downtown Bellevue Office Tower Going Up; Sorrento Hotel Mural Wanted

DOWNTOWN BELLEVUE -- Real estate developer Schnitzer West is jumping in to the Downtown Bellevue office tower fray, announcing Wednesday that they are breaking ground on Centre 425, a 16-story office tower at 425 106th Ave. N.E. The tower will include 360K sq. ft. of space and is now one of three office complexes currently under construction in the area. [PSBJ]

FIRST HILL-- Seattle Mural Project and the Sorrento Hotel are on the lookout for a muralist for a mural on the Sorrento Hotel garage at 932 Madison Street. This highly visible location is estimated to have over 25,000 vehicles pass daily. Interest artists should submit images of previous work and biographic information by January 5, 2015.

HOTEL HAPPENINGS -- When the Hampton Inn & Suites Bellevue Downtown opens today, it will officially be Hampton Hotels 2,000th location. The company is marking the occasion with an opening celebration, including a special surprise finale. The new 128-room hotel is owned by Palmetto Hospitality and managed by OTO Development. [HH]
