FREMONT — The former home of beloved deli/bistro Dot's is getting a new occupant: Suga. The Japanese comfort food restaurant is from Eriko Sugawara, who's operated downtown's Seattle's Benihana for nearly two decades. Sugawara is pursuing a decidedly less corporate concept with Suga, which is set to open by late January. Eater has details.
OPENING ALERTS — This week brings the opening of Pioneer Square coffee bar and roaster Elm near Pizzeria Gabbiano and Good Bar. Also new: The Bergschrund, a kid-friendly tap room in Ballard's former 2-Bit Saloon space from local microbrewery NW Peaks.
