Starting Thursday, throwing away food waste in your trash will officially be illegal in Seattle. That means not only food scraps but also pizza boxes, used napkins and paper towels, amongst other things. Trash container found to contain more than 10% recyclables or food waste by volume will face a $1 fine on their next garbage bill. If you've been holding out on getting aboard the recycling & composting trains, consider this your "all aboard!" message. [SPI, image via The Crumleys]
