Last week's story about a four townhome project being built so close to an existing Ballard house that people inside both buildings could shake hands from inside seems to have been a final straw for some. King 5 reports on a group called 'Livable Ballard' that has started a petition demanding Seattle address zoning issues and close developer loopholes.
Meanwhile, tenants at Lockhaven Apartments (3040 NW Market St), who have been fighting building owners over relocation and eviction notices for months now, are holding a rally this afternoon to raise awareness in the fight to keep their homes.
Ballardites are not going quietly into that condo-crazed night.
