Columbia City & Downtown Bellevue Among Nation's Top 10 Green Neighborhoods

It should come as no surprise that the Seattle-area is well represented when it comes to "green neighborhoods.' The Seattle area had 20 neighborhoods where 10% (or more) of the homes for sale had green features. It might be a surprise, however, to see Downtown Bellevue as the No. 4 greenest neighborhood in the nation, according to Redfin. Columbia City was the top neighborhood inside Seattle, coming in at No. 8 overall.

According to Redfin, the median sale price of homes with green features was roughly $47K higher than homes without green features. Something to consider if you're the seller. If you're the buyer, let's take a quick look at some green homes in downtown Bellevue and Columbia City to see what makes them so eco-friendly.

This 810 sq. ft. studio in Bellevue Towers features luxury finishes, walls of windows, study alcove, Subzero/Viking/Bosch appliances, 9' ceilings & a balcony, all for $475K. The building is LEED Gold certified for sustainability.

This modern two-story standalone home is part of Dwell Development's BLOCK35 community. Enrolled in the 5 star Built Green program, the soon-to-be-completed 3-BR will be solar-ready and uber-energy efficient. Asking $525K.
