For more than 30 years, Piecora's Pizzeria has called the building at 1401 E. Madison St. home. More than that, the Piercora family owned the entire building. That is, until yesterday when Chicago-based apartment developer Equity Residential bought the building for almost $10.3M. The Piercora's paid just over $3M to buy the building in 2002.

Locally, Equity owns three dozen apartment complexes in the region, though it's unclear what exactly they have planned for the property. Better get your pizza while you can, the longtime Seattle restaurant has announced they'll shutter on April 15.
