Located in the shadow of the Space Needle, The UPGarden P-Patch sits atop Mercer Garage where it remains the first publicly accessible, large-scale community rooftop garden in the country. The 30K sq. ft. space can now call itself an award-winner as well, winning the top prize this year from the Washington Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects. The garden contains roughly 100 plots, communal space, room for ornamental and pollinator plantings, an Airstream trailer used as a tool shed and a Ford Galaxie that has been converted into a planter.
