The family behind Taco Time spent a lot of time trying to get a mixed-use project built at 1420 E Madison in Capitol Hill. After multiple plan rejections and concerns over contamination, they finally sold the property back in April to Metropolitan Homes. Now that company is attempting to succeed where the previous owners couldn't, with plans for a six-story, 70-unit mixed use building on the lot. The plan, which also include 77 below-grade parking spots and 3K sq. ft. of retail space, have been submitted to the design review board for early guidance. Located just across the street from the Bullitt Center, it's a prime location that someone, eventually, will get developed.
