The First Step For Westlake Steps Is Residential

The long-gestating Westlake Steps mixed-use project is finally moving into the design guidance phase as architect Weber Thompson and developer Holland Residential have a design review board meeting scheduled for June 4 to begin the residential part of the plan. In the works since 2007, the complex will consist of two structures. The south building will include approx. 293 apartments (1 & 2-BRs) while the north building will include 118 apartments (413 total). Original plans called for 325 apartment units. The buildings will also include 1,400 sq. ft. of retail space (one rendering calls for a bowling alley) and 270 parking stalls. This is only "phase one" of the Westlake Steps project, which may eventually include a hotel, office building and possibly even more goodies.
