This week's top hits from Eater Seattle, Curbed's sibling bar, restaurant, and nightlife blog.
ROOSEVELT— Toronado, the more than 25-year-old, trailblazing San Francisco craft beer bar, is opening a location in NE Seattle. The upcoming bar in the former Mutiny Hall space is headed up by Matt Bonney (Bottleworks, Burgundian, Brouwer's.) Look for doors to open later this summer.
DOWNTOWN— Tom Douglas is at it again. What we know: The chef/restaurateur will open a cantina featuring homemade tortillas in the Martin Apartments building on Fifth and Lenora. Stay tuned for opening day and menu details.
OPEN WIDE— "Food has become the new rock & roll in Seattle." Kurt Cobain and Jimi Hendrix biographer/music journalist/former Rocket editor Charles R. Cross talks food and music in a new Eater interview.
