This week's top hits from Eater Seattle, Curbed's sibling bar, restaurant, and nightlife blog.
DOWNTOWN— Elysian Bar is now serving entrees, bar snacks, and cocktails (shaken on weeknights by venerable bartender Murray Stenson) on Second Ave. downtown. The restaurant and watering hole in the former Noc Noc location has been totally revamped; Eater has a photo tour of the sophisticated new space from the owners of Elysian Brewing.
CAPITOL HILL— With more than 2,500 albums on the shelves and a 60s-inspired design, Revolver Bar opens today in the former Dinette space on Olive Way. The new spot from Gary Reynolds serves a Creole-inspired menu that includes gumbo, vegan mac and cheese, and ratatouille po' boys. Take a look around.
FOOD TV— What's it really like to be on a food TV show? Garrett Doherty of Kraken Congee talks about his experience filming Restaurant Kickstart, an upcoming reality show from CNBC. "It's a chance for us to go from our one night a month pop-up to maybe making it into a real space and venue," Doherty says. Kraken's episode airs sometime in July; Eater has details.
