Liz Dunn Buys Capitol Hill Complex, Mack Urban Prepping Waterfront Apartments

CAPITOL HILL— Real estate developer Liz Dunn has purchased the 103-year-old H.W. Baker Linen Supply Co. building at 1101 E. Pike St. for $5.4M. The three-story, 19K sq. ft. building is home to Retrofit Home and Cafe Pettirosso. So far, no one knows what Dunn's plan for the property might be. [CHS]

DOWNTOWN— Mack Urban will begin construction in November on a 16-story, mixed-use building at 1301 Western Ave. The complex will include 169 residential units, 3,600 sq. ft. of retail and 130 underground parking spaces. Apartments are expected to be open for lease by June 2016, roughly the same time the nearby Alaskan Way Viaduct is scheduled to be torn down. [DJC]

MT. BAKER— Capitol Hill Housing, which builds affordable housing projects, is attempting to purchase a swath of land at 3211 Martin Luther King Jr. Way S, where the space may be upzoned by the city. No official plans as of yet for the property currently home to Jorve Roofing, though one city council member remarked that a medical clinic would be involved. [PSBJ]
