Former Hostess Bakery Site Will Soon Host 294 Residences

They don't make Twinkies or Ding-Dongs anymore on the half-block property on Republican Street between Aurora and Dexter avenues. But they are making brand new residential units that you can stock up with Twinkies and/or Ding-Dongs. Mill Creek Residential Trust and Fish Mackay Architects are bringing their plans for 435 Dexter before the Design Review Board on June 18 for recommendations. Thanks to the city's rezoning of the area, plans call for a seven-story structure, which will include 294 residential units and 248 below-grade parking stalls.
