The Atlantic Flats will be a five-story, 160-unit, mixed-use space at 1801 S Jackson St. in Central District, featuring 128K sq. ft. of residential space with 14K sq. ft. of ground-level commercial space and 7K sq. ft. of ground-level live/work space. Isola Homes and NK Architects will take the project before the design review board on June 24 for recommendations.
The complex will feature studios, 1-BRs, 2-BRs and live/work units, the last of which will face an interior courtyard that extends the entire building. Open to the public during the day, developers hope the courtyard becomes a centerpiece of not only the complex but the community as well. The building will also feature a rooftop deck. Construction is expected to begin in Spring 2015, assuming approval.
