Add an 11-Story Mixed-Use Tower to the Waterfront Skyline

Portland-based developer Gerding Edlen will replace a parking garage at 316 Alaskan Way S. with an 11-story mixed-use tower, according to plans submitted to the city. Their early proposal is for an 184K sq. ft. complex that contains 200 residential units, 6,530 sq. ft. of ground-level retail and 78 at-grade parking spots. They also call for a second-story deck and "rooftop enclosed recreation space," whatever that entails. You can add this project to ever-increasing list of upcoming developments springing up in the space left behind when the Alaskan Way Viaduct is demolished.
