Green Lake View Home Gets Top to Bottom Remodel

Project Name: Green Lake Whole House Remodel
Location: Green Lake
Professional: Motionspace Architecture & Design
Cost: $175K
Planning: Two years
Description: Owners Paul and Susan Hogben, both Boeing engineers, bought this Green Lake house based on its stunning views, location (across the street from Green Lake) and potential. Along with the redesign, they also created a 2-BR ADU in the basement to provide rental income. The project involved lifting the entire house up two feet, pouring an entirely new foundation (as there was none) and remodeling the interior as well as the exterior. Floor plans were rearranged and windows were added in order to take advantage of the view and the structural engineering team designed a steel moment frame on the view facade to meet code requirements for lateral (earthquake & wind) loads.
