Playhouse Design Group has submitted designs for an August 11 recommendation meeting with the design review board for a 30-unit microhousing complex at 1436 NW 62nd St in Ballard. Each studio unit across the four-story building will be between 220 and 280 sq. ft., designed for "those who are community- and socially-oriented, both young and old, who choose to live simply and with minimal possessions." Building amenities include secure bicycle storage and a rooftop deck. The project appears to be called 'Vitality,' which might be a play on the name of developer Vitaliy Afichuk. Surrounded on all sides by townhomes and apartment buildings, we'll look for the NIMBY complaints to begin in 3...2...1....
