Early Looks at The Commons, Rubix & Dunn Automotive Building

It's Renderingpalooza over here thanks to BuzzBuzzHome, which let us know that three ongoing Seattle apartment projects have some new renderings to show off.

First up is Rubix, a new apartment project by Barrientos currently under construction in North Capitol Hill. The 73-unit complex will include a ground-floor cafe with seating in the building lobby to encourage social interaction. That's all well and good but is it us or shouldn't a place called Rubix be a giant cube?

Next we head over to The Commons, Henbart's apartment project currently in pre-construction at 5601 22nd Avenue Northwest in Ballard. The complex is scheduled for completion in 2016 and is expected to include 78 apartments, four townhouses, 20K sq. ft. of office space and two levels of underground parking. There's also something delightful about a place generically-named The Commons with renderings that include a restaurant called "Restaurant" and a retail store called "Retail Store."

Finally we return to Capitol Hill to check out the latest looks at Dunn Automotive Building, currently under construction at 501 East Pike Street. Scheduled for completion in 2015, the eight-story project from Hunters Capital has a total of 89 units.
