Pronto! Cycle Share Memberships Now On Sale, Official Launch Pushed to October

As of today, you could officially sign up and become a member of Pronto! Cycle Share, Seattle's new bikeshare service. Two membership options were made available, The "Pedal" Founding Membership for $85 and The "Gear" Founding Membership for $125. Both memberships get you unlimited 30-minute rides, special deals with local bike shops and an limited edition blue Founding Member key & t-shirt. The pricier option gets you a tote bag and extra guest passes to share with others. Corporate memberships are also offered but details aren't made public.

One interesting update also made today, the service itself won't launch until October 13. That's a change from the previous ETA of "mid-to-late September."

The service also detailed their helmet-rental service for those who don't have their own. Helmet rentals will run members $1.50 while 24-hour and 3-day pass holders will have to pay $2. If you decide to keep the helmet longer than 24 hours (or just forget to give it back), you will be charged $30 and at that point the helmet belongs to you. Congrats on your new helmet!

Finally, a station location map was made live, marking every spot you can pick up a Pronto! bike in Capitol Hill, First Hill, U-District, Eastlake, South Lake Union, Belltown, Downtown, Pioneer Square and International District. 500 bikes will be distributed between the stations.
