Plaza Roberto Maestas Hopes to Live up To Its Namesake

New, 1 comment

The proposal and renderings for Plaza Roberto Maestas have reached the recommendations phase and will be presented to the design review board on August 12. The mixed-use affordable housing project located directly south of El Centro de la Raza's historic schoolhouse building, and adjacent to the Beacon Hill Light Rail Station, will include 112 residential units, four micro-retail spaces, a childcare center, office space, long-term & short-term bicycle stalls and a central plaza between the two buildings. The project is named for Roberto Maestas, founder of El Centro de La Raza and an advocate for social justice. The $41M project is estimated to be completed in 2016.
