Sunk Cost: Seattle Scraps Waterfront Barge Pool Plans For Now

In November 2013, we felt a mix of delight and horror at the news people involved with the Seattle waterfront redevelopment were considering the addition of a barge pool that could open "in two to three years." Because if there's anything you should do after stuffing yourself with fried fish, it's strip down to your skivvies and churn out twenty laps. Alas, our barge-y dreams have been sunk with the news that "the city has decided to nix a floating barge." Crosscut does note that the $23M project, which would have been moored at Pier 62 and Pier 63, could still resurface at a later date. Don't hold your breath, though.
