Vulcan Has Two More South Lake Union Blocks in the Works

Another week, another set of renderings for large residential and mixed-use complexes in South Lake Union that Vulcan Real Estate wants to build. Ho hum.

First up, Block 56E at 401 Eighth Ave. N. This 23/24-story residential tower will include somewhere between 285 and 300 apartments, 225 spaces of underground parking, a solarium and rooftop amenity space. Runberg Architecture Group is designing and Lease Crutcher Lewis is handling pre-construction.

Next up, Block 38 at 520 Westlake Ave. N. This one will be a 12-story building with 322K sq. ft. of office space, 17K sq. ft. of retail space and 330 below-grade parking spaces. The preferred design calls for a "shifted tower" to help create a better pedestrian street level experience. NBBJ is the architect and GLY Construction will handle construction.

Design review meetings are set for both projects on October 1. These projects join the Lakefront Blocks that Vulcan has unveiled previously as they continue to reshape the SLU skyline.
