Cornerspotted: Third & James Got a Bit Taller Over the Years

Yesterday, we asked you to guess the location of this 1889 Seattle building. Even with some topical clues this one ended up as a stumper. The long-gone building was located at Third Avenue & James Street, the current home of the King County Courthouse.

Image: Wikimedia We also chose this spot this week because it's right next door to where the Civic Square project may or may not ever be built. Maybe we like to think transparent political shakedowns only took place back in the days of the Lowman & Hanford Stationary Co., but apparently not.
