230-Room Hotel Plans Submitted For 2nd & Stewart

New york-based developer Widewaters Group has filed for a master use permit for a 16-story hotel at Second and Stewart that will share the block with a 40-story residential tower that Equity Residential is building. The hotel will include 230 rooms and 3,300 sf. of restaurant space. A five-level underground parking garage will run under the entire block and act as the base of both structures. Per the Equity project, the parking garage is expected to include ZipCar spaces, e-vehicle charging stations, bike storage and changing rooms for cyclists. Depending on permit approval and construction of the parking structure, work could begin on the hotel by 2Q 2016. Widewaters still has to buy some property to make the project work and Hogan Campis Architecture will be the lead architect on it.
