New 24-Story Tower Planned For McGuire Apartments Site

New, 1 comment

Built in 2001, the McGuire Apartments was torn down in 2011 when it was discovered that defective installation allowed post-tensioned cables to be corroded, making the building unlivable. AvalonBay Communities and Ankrom Moisan Architects think they can get it right at 210 Wall Street this time. They've proposed a 24-story apartment tower that they will take before the design review board on Tuesday. Plans call for 320 apartments, 9,750 square feet of retail space and 260 underground parking spaces. The preferred design would gear towards the southwest corner of the half-block site and would include a large deck on the podium.
