Cornerspotted: Pedestrians Replaced Trolleys on Pike Street

Yesterday, we asked you to guess the location of this Seattle trolley stop in 1953. One guess was for 2nd and Union, another thought it might be Pike & 4th. walker-d guessed it was Pike & Second, which was the closest. The actual answer: Pike Street between First Avenue and Second Avenue.

The trolley bus is facing west towards Elliott Bay and Pike Street was later made eastbound-only. The Route 2 trolley traveled to West Queen Anne until 1963 when the entire system was scraped and revamped.
