Once upon a time, Hollywood legend Gene Hackman owned tiny Fawn Island in the San Juans. He sold the place around 2008 and traded up for an even more secluded spot in British Columbia. Now, the current owners of the 2.3-acre island located at the mouth of Deer Harbor on Orcas Island is available again, asking $3.9M. Unlike some of it's primitive counterparts, this one comes ready to live on with a 3,514 square-foot home built in 1978 (renovated in 2008) as well as two guest homes. Since you can't live on an island without a way to get off it, there's a new pier, private dock and mooring buoy. You'll survive on your own thanks to an reverse osmosis water system and well. It's island living for when you want to feel secluded but not too secluded. Orcas is a quick kayak paddle or even quicker boat ride away.
