This Friday, two Seattle homes will open their doors to the public as part of International Passive House Days, a worldwide open house event for houses that meet the Passive House Standard. Palatine Passive (8713 Palatine Ave N) in Greenwood will be open to visitors between 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. while Park Passive (4211 E Lee Street) Madison Park will be open from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. All tours are free.
Buildings that meet the Passive House Standard use 80 to 90 percent less energy for heating and cooling, savings far greater than any other building standard delivers. For more information on International Passive House Days activities in the area, visit here.
