Western Washington is home to some of the best hikes in America. Facebook heard that and was, like, "we want in." According to Geekwire, however, Facebook's new Seattle office at Dexter Station will feature a large rooftop park complete with "a walking trail, giant fire pit and BBQ-style dining area, plus a covered cafeteria and an outdoor events space." If we were talking about one of the new upscale residential complexes going up across town, you'd expect to see most of that (except maybe a walking trail???). But given that this is all for an office, it shows just how far some companies are going to go to attract valuable tech employees in a region overflowing with companies vying for their attention and services. Facebook confirmed to GeekWire that "there will be a total of three rooftop areas full of local trees and plants" and that the outdoor spaces will run along balconies on the 7th floor of the Dexter Station building, which will be ready by mid-2016. Facebook didn't share any renderings other than what's already available but from what we've seen, there's a lot of green going on up there. As for where the walking trails go, well, we'll take that walk when it's ready.
