What $1,400/Month Can Rent You in Seattle Right Now

Welcome back to Curbed Comparisons, where we scour Seattle's rental listings to see what your monthly budget will get you across the city. This week we're seeing what $1,400/month can get you. You tell us which lease you'd sign.

Let's begin in North Delridge where you can find a 720 sq. ft. 1-BR at Westside Flats. The location puts you at the very top of West Seattle Golf Course and within walking distance to The Junction. Dog owners will be happy to hear there's an on-site dog park. The unit itself looks modern and well-maintained. We're off to a good start.

Ballard is up next where you can find a 455 sq. ft. studio at Leva on Market. If you're willing to forgo personal space to be close to neighborhood action, you might consider this a worthy trade-off.

In Magnolia, you'll find Overlook at Magnolia (obviously) and inside you'll find an 845 sq. ft. 1-BR for $1,400. All of the usual amenities here, such as a balcony and Whirlpool appliances. Some apartments include skylights, fireplaces, and vaulted ceilings as well (can't say for sure this one does). This is the biggest of the places for the price, so if you're cool with Magnolia, this is the spot for those who need some space.

We go back down in size to 492 sq. ft. with this studio in Capitol Hill. Definitely for those who value location over personal space. The vintage unit is in a 1925 building that's two blocks from Broadway. The queen-size Murphy bed eithers sounds like fun or like fech.

Finally we end up in Fremont, where you can actually get a 2-BR. This one is 800 sq. ft. and is located at the corner of Fremont Ave. & Motor Place. That puts you right across the street from Paseo, which might seal the deal then and there. The place itself has some wear and tear (Hi, bathroom) but it's another situation where location could trump personal space.
