This Ballard Bungalow Has Seen its Share of Clam Chowder

According to Ivar's Seafood and Chowder House lore, chef Einer Larson perfected the famous Ivar's Clam Chowder right here in the bungalow at 8021 8th Ave NW in Ballard (though Larson doesn't take credit for creating it). Now on the market asking $495K, it's a legit piece of Seattle history that could be yours. Larson sold the home in 2006 when he retired but the unassuming kitchen that helped eventually feed millions of tourists remains. The 1,830 sq. ft. 2-BR is quickly becoming a throwback in a neighborhood filling up with new construction. Along with the attached garage, basement and fenced back yard, it's a small piece of Ballard history, inside and out, that's worth another look.
