According to a HotPads analysis, renters in Seattle pay one of the biggest premiums in the nation when it comes to getting a shorter commute. Seattlites pay $232.50 more in rent for an average one-way commute savings of 7 minutes, the fifth-highest amount among major cities. Those with the shortest local median commutes pay $1427.50/mo. while those with the longest commutes pay $1,195/mo.
