Could Seattle's Sports Arena End Up in Bellevue or Tukwila?

Via the Seattle Times comes news that while Chris Hansen has been busy trying to make the SoDo Arena happen, talks with landowners in Bellevue and Tukwila have been ongoing as alternative sites for what could be the eventual home to NBA and NHL franchises. The Tukwila site appears to be the more appealing option thanks to highway and light rail access as well as the fact that it's owned by former Sonics minority owner David Sabey. The Bellevue site, currently a car dealership, would also require the purchase of two additional city-owned parcels in order to have enough room for an arena. Of course, any arena will need a franchise first and that doesn't appear to be happening for the time being. Still, the prospect of the Tukwila Sonics might be enough to get that EIS moving again.
