Escala Punishes 'Fifty Shades of Grey' Airbnb Condo Lister

For fans of Fifty Shades of Grey, it all sounded too good to be true. Late last week, an Airbnb listing went up for a condo rental in Escala, where Christian Grey lives in the book & film. The chance to live in a 1-BR condo in "the sexiest building in the city," albeit for $257/night with a three-night minimum stay, made news around the world, which probably explains how the folks in the building sales office heard about it. Citing the ownership agreement, which does not allow for short-term rentals in the building, the listing was removed and the dream of finding the red room of pain was spanked away. That said, if you can pony up $1.9M, the dream can begin anew.
