Last week, the doors to the 9,000 square-foot facility that Cambia Grove will call home officially opened in what they hope will be the next step to revolutionizing health care entrepreneurship here in the Puget Sound region and beyond. Located at 1800 Ninth Ave., this innovation center wants to be the place where small business entrepreneurs can pitch their ideas to health care companies such as UW Medicine, Regence BlueShield and Qliance, and then work together to change the oft-confusing system. The new space was designed by architecture firm Mackenzie and combines the modern sleekness of so many fellow South Lake Union offices with a Northwest flair evident in the treated wood wall that greets you in the entrance way. Ultimately, Cambia Grove wants to do for health care what Puget Sound innovators have already done for technology, coffee, aerospace, and online retail. No small task but now they've got the space to do it.
