Amazon Leases Troy Block Buildings & The Ama-Zone Grows

Amazon has a goal of occupying 10 million square feet of office space in Seattle by 2019. With 9.1 million square feet of space currently occupied, planned or under construction, they were already well on their way to meeting that goal and that was before the announced today that they will lease all 817,000 square feet of office space in Touchstone Corp.'s upcoming Troy Block project (previously the Troy Landry Block). When completed, the Perkins + Will-designed, two-building complex at 307 Fairview Avenue will include a 12-story building as well as a 13-story building and developers expect one of them to be ready in 2016 and the other in 2017. The lease is reportedly for 15 years and gives the online retailer another home base in a sea of Seattle home bases. And so, The Ama-Zone grows...
