BELLEVUE— W Hotels will open a 245-room hotel at Bellevue's Lincoln Square in spring 2017. The hotel will take up the first 13 stories of the 41-story tower owned by Kemper Development, the rest of which will be apartments. It's the second W Hotel in the region. [ST]
PIKE PLACE— As expected, the City Council approved $34M in funding for an expansion to Pike Place Market on Monday. The renovation includes nearly 50 new stalls, 12,000-square-feet of added retail space, 300 underground parking spaces and a 30,000-square-foot plaza with a viewing deck and walking connection to the waterfront. BELLEVUE— Although the specific tenant was not announced, Kemper Freeman said Monday that "a unique kind of urban grocery store" will move into a section of the 200,000-sqaure-foot space J.C. Penney vacated last year in Bellevue Square. They're currently negotiating two two grocers, one of which may be Whole Foods. [PSBJ]
