Last Week's Biggest Sales: Broadmoor Colonial Goes For $3M

New, 1 comment

Listed for: $3.29M
Received: $3M
Size: 5-BR, 3.75 bath, 4,590 sf
Location: 2208 Waverly Wy E, Broadmoor
The Skinny: This 1927 Colonial sits on the 11th green of the Broadmoor Golf Club. It lasted not even eleven weeks on the open market before it went pending for just under ask (relatively-speaking). First thing we notice is the gorgeous wallpaper, and we don't say that very often. The grounds are pretty special and include a walled courtyard, espaliered ivy, Italian Cypress & fountain. Lots of room inside, including on the lower level where you'll find the bar & wine cellar. A little dated upstairs but the new owners can clearly afford some upgrades.

Listed for: $1.895M
Received: $2.045M
Size: 5-BE, 3.25 bath, 4,270 sf
Location: 1038 34th Ave E, Washington Park
The Skinny: This extensively-remodeled 1928 Tudor ended up getting above ask by a little bit and way more than the seller paid for it in 2012 ($1.345M). Guess the remodeling paid off. Secluded behind brick walls, this one comes with relaxing grounds as well. Inside, lots of upgraded rooms, including a 2013 kitchen with all new appliances.

Listed for: $1.65M
Received: $1.65M
Size: 2-BR, 2.75 bath, 3,980 sf
Location: 909 E Newton St, Unit A2, Capitol Hill
The Skinny: Ask and ye shall receive. They asked for $1.65M and that's what they got. On and off the market in about a month, this luxury condo boasts the impressive views you'd expect and is extremely large for a 2-BR space. Walls of windows, remodeled kitchen and extra den/office all part of the package here. A bit 70's in spots, there may be more remodeling to come.
