After a six-month process that saw four groups bid for the right to design a massive housing and commercial complex at the Capitol Hill light rail station on Broadway at East John Street, Sound Transit appears to have selected Portland real estate developer Gerding Edlen as the victor. If the deal goes through, they'll create a three-site project that will cost $124M and include 418 apartments in four buildings as well as retail spaces, a plaza, a community center and a daycare facility. Construction could start as soon as Summer 2016. [PSBJ]
