The Seattle Mariners open another baseball season today, this one with high hopes and expectations. To mark the annual start of America's national pastime, real estate resource, Trulia, took a look at home prices in the neighborhoods near major-league stadiums. What they found here in Seattle probably won't surprise you. If you want to live close enough to Safeco Field to hear the crowd and see the lights from home–and of course, walk to the game–it's gonna cost you. Trulia examined current home prices within a mile or two of each U.S. baseball stadium and Safeco Field came in at No. 4 at $507 median price per foot. It's not too surprising either to find out that's way up from 2013 ($333). We're gonna guess that has a lot less to do with the Mariners and more to do with all that development in and around SoDo.
