Last year, Seattle's was named the fastest-growing big city in the U.S. following a surge in population in 2013. Our reign of terror is over, unfortunately, now that 2014 population estimates from the U.S. Census Bureau are in. Austin, Texas is now back in the top spot, which Seattle had briefly dethroned it from. Seattle was down from 2.8 percent growth in 2013 to 2.3 percent in 2014, which was still good enough to tie Fort Worth for third place overall behind Austin (2.9) and Denver (2.4). Seattle's population in 2014 was reported as 668,342, up 15,000 from 2013. [FYI]
