Preservation Watch

Seattleites are pretty big on preservation when it comes to historic and landmark homes. So what the heck happened with the George Carmack House at 16th and E. Jefferson in Central District? The 1902 Dutch Colonial, which was listed as a Seattle landmark was razed last Tuesday. It didn't go down without a fight from preservationists, though, and Crosscut has the whole story, which isn't as black & white as it sounds. [CC] Image: JSeattle
