Downtown Seattle will be getting The Boot. At least that's what we think the 58-story Rainier Square tower at 1301 5th Avenue that was just approved by the design review board looks like. Approval was not without alternations for the $600 million project. The scoop that creates the boot effect will now begin at the 4th floor instead of the 7th and the developer has eliminated a curved section on the southeast corner. The building will still maintain that unique shape and Wright Runsted still plans to break ground late 2016 and open in late 2018. [ST]
