Cornerspotted: No Comfort at Westlake Square Today

Yesterday, we asked you to guess where in Seattle this triangle that's called a square is located. Commenter Todd got it right off the bat with his guess of Westlake Square.

Images: Seattle Municipal Archives, Google Maps Westlake Square was indeed once a "comfort station" a hybrid bus stop shelter and underground bathroom (pictured here). It was demolished and its rooms filled in 1964, making it the last of such stations in Seattle. Nowadays it's tangentially part of the plaza for the South Lake Union Streetcar.
