STADIUM DISTRICT -- Nobody likes the long walk home after a Seahawks or Mariners game and that's why the Gridiron Condos along Occidental Avenue South shouldn't last long once it's completed. Daniels Real Estate will start construction on the 107-unit project in August and expected to open by April 2017. Formerly the Seattle Plumbing Supply building, there will also be 9,700 square feet on he ground floor for restaurant and bar space. [DJC]

NEWCASTLE -- Design+build firm SolTerra is doubling the number of multifamily LEED Platinum-designed apartments in the Pacific Northwest as it begins construction this week on Atlas in Newcastle. The Atlas apartment complex will include 98-units in a 6-story building with underground parking for residents, as well as patrons of the Newcastle Library next door. It also includes two-thousand square feet for ground-floor retail space. Eco-friendly features include green living walls, eco-roofs, a large storm water retention facility, roof top solar, and private and public roof terraces. [PSBJ]

PIKE PLACE -- Unico Properties has announced plans for what they're calling "a significant repositioning" of the Market Place I & II office campus. An extension of the work already being done to extend the market area, this new part will include the addition of a 10,000-square-foot, ground-floor retail space. They also plan to renovate the facades of the two buildings at 2003 Western Avenue and upgrade the plaza. [PSBJ]
