So, This Bellingham 4-BR Has a Giant Ship Sticking Out of It

New, 1 comment

We're not sure what's more surprising about the 4,101 square-foot house at 3012 Cherrywood Avenue in Bellingham. That the master bedroom sits inside an 18th century British Royal Navy ship replica or that, knowing that, it's only asking $425K. Your eyes are not deceiving you, that is the stern of a giant ship. According to the owner, Mrs. Washington winner Laura Hunter, it's part of an actual reproduction of the HMS Endeavour, notable as Captain Cook's vessel. How exactly it ended up as the stern of this four-bedroom house remains unknown, at least to us. Inside, the master bedroom looks "upscale pirate," shall we say? There's actually more to this house than just a massive ship sticking out the rear. One of the kitchens has a galley feel to it and the ballroom (yes, ballroom) evokes a vintage feeling from the era it was built (1931). The property also comes with an 850 square-foot detached guest suite & detached three-car garage/ship. We're curious what's going on behind the scenes, though. The house has been on and off the market perpetually since 2010, asking $549K in 2011 and $454K in 2013 with price-chops continuing since. Looks like it might take a special kind of commander to steer this land vessel.
